Scripture: 1 Cor 14:40, “Whatever we do, let all things be done decently and in order”
Purpose:
To be dressed & prepared to accommodate our church congregation in a moving worship service and provide them a comfortable seat. As an extension of the Pastor’s heart and the first people they usually see, they will set a friendly and inviting atmosphere for all entering our church.
Mission:
Under the direction of the Ushers Ministry, a church usher or appointee, acting as an officer of the church, are the doorkeepers who initially usher us in the right spirit to receive the message of the church, greet guests and church members.
They are to seat everyone being especially mindful of those requiring wheelchair assistance. They will hand out information, bulletins when necessary and pass any other items needed for our guests.
Ushers will secure and observe all church entrances and exits, especially those times that require no movement of church attendees. They will be attentive of guest needs during worship and ensure order is kept in and around the church.
Church Nurses will provide basic first aid and CPR.
Nurses will work as a support system with the ushers to assist the Pastor as needed, give out handkerchiefs, assist members in the spirit by being close by, to prevent others from interfering and never restrain anyone.
Not only will they provide basic first aid, but they will also be available to take blood pressures if necessary.
Last, but not least, Ushers and Nurses are to be available for any need of the Pastor, church members and guest during the church worship service or functions.
